Wow. Wow. Wow. Saucony just owned my life experience.
But let me go back first. MG was tagging along to tonight’s event so we met up at Picco for some ice cream.
We then headed over to the Cyclorama for the running Inspiration and Find Your Strong event.

Outside you could test out the new Kinvara 3. Hey check out that lady's backpack...pretty sharp! Get it!?
It was a little crazy getting through the door at first but afterwards the set up was fantastic. The walls had projected inspirational quotes from the #findyourstrong as well as from old running pros.

That's Dorthy from Mile Posts. She's a real person with a family and she's pretty much become the face of the Find Your Strong campaign over night. I wish I would have 'bumped' into her, she's pretty amazing.
Sharon Barbano opened and hosted, she was AMAZING and such a great speaker. After a moving memorandum/tribute to Micah ‘Caballo Blanco’ True and a talk with his close friend Luis Escoba it was on to the speakers.

Luis talks to Sharon. To donate to the Caballo Blanco fund please visit http://caballoblanco.org
From Mark Herzlich I learned about the power of setting a goal, believing in that goal, and working hard to obtain it. I learned about the power of support from your teammates and tenacity.

2012 NFL Superbowl Champion; Boston College All-American; Cancer Survivor - easy on the eyes and charming.

After the talk I learned he is wearing new deodorant that smells nice. Yah, I'm socially inept but he was nice to me anyway. Thank you Mark, you are amazing for ignoring my complete weirdness.
Karen Smyers taught me it’s not failing if you keep trying. I also learned that we don’t pop out of the womb running marathons! Huh, what a concept!?

3X World Triathlon Champion; Ironman Kona Champion - AND voted most likely to be eaten by a shark. We probably would be an interesting pair given our track records with 'luck.'
And lastly from the one and only Bill Rodgers I learned about sometimes it’s hard and it’s okay (he even confessed to 8 DNF). He also told some wacky stories (his favorite place to drop out of the marathon is Heartbreak Hill) and talked about how individualized running is, basically what works/worked for him may not work for me/you…he’s a spirited guy.

He's kooky, but I adore him. After the talk he schooled me on shoe tying. He's a double knotter in case you were wondering. He told me about a lace tucking method too which I wanna give a try.
Oh and those new Kirvana 3′s due out in May? Beautiful.
You did well Saucony.
Tomorrow – Meb Watch Twenty Twelve in full effect!
